     Flag law update
The Bay State Council has contracted Attorney Cohen to represent the diving community in the up coming case against the City of Gloucester. There is an informational meeting with Mr. Cohen for August 9. Due to limits on space, dive shops, charter Captains, and clubs should send representatives.

Another meeting has been scheduled with Mr. Cohen for the general public on August 14. The location has yet to be determined

If anyone would like to donate for the cause, the address is:
Bay State Council of Divers c/o South Shore Neptune's
P.O. Box 518
Quincy, Mass. 02169

The by-law in question is found at Here. Refer to Section 10.81 and 10.86(e). This law has been on the books since 1993, but was never enforced because of the wording and that it would possibly conflict with state laws.

     No Newsletter at informal
Tuesday, July 04, 2006
Due to the holiday, we were unable to have the newsletter ready for Wednesday's informal. Therefore there won't be any of the usual newsletter prep work at this meeting, but it should still be a good time with plenty of great food!
