Boat Dive |
January 12th, 2015 |
Proof that diving is a year round activity in New England! Boat dive coordinator Mike Mac along with several other divers (including one in a wetsuit!) went scalloping on Sunday with Boston Scuba. Everyone did well for scallops and there was even a very cool bottle find from 1860s-1870s.
Max depth of 47fsw and water temperature in Boston Harbor was approximately 35-36f. The visibility was a fantastic 25-30ft+ in some spots which is great for the harbor.
Divers aboard the R/V Gauntlet with Northern Atlantic Dive Expeditions also dove the wreck of the Romance on Sunday and reported similar water temperatures but had an astonishing 35ft-40ft+ of visibility.
Winter diving is here which means increased visibility.
